This was a great sale for me. My house had been on the market a few years ago with a different agent and there were no offers.Claire was able to get multiple offers within days. Living out of town, I really appreciated that Claire was able to work through the details management company and the tenant. All her advice was sound regarding pricing, repairs, and negotiations. My family bought our first home with Claire as our realtor. She made what should have been a stressful endeavor into something fun and interesting. She answered all of our questions and educated me on many aspects of home buying so I could make an informed decision- even researching old property rules as my garage, built in 1947, straddles the line. Claire was phenomenal to work with and is an amazing person. I was skeptical when she encouraged us to list our charming, yet janky, Mississippi district 4-square lower than we hoped and not do any improvements. But we were getting offers before it was even shown and ended up selling it for $35,000 above our list price. And amid all of the other negotiations, she secured me a 45-day closing which allowed me to work with her on finding a new property to buy. When I did find my new dream house, she was fantastic dealing with the an incompetent seller (flipper who had no idea what he was doing who insisted on handling the sale himself -- already lost 3 buyers because he was so inept.) At one point it looked like the seller was trying to perpetrate real estate fraud (it turned out to be a reasonable misunderstanding) but if it hadn't been for Claire's level head I may have missed out on owning an amazing house!

While I am not a fan of online reviews (they tend to lean toward great or terrible), Claire is definitely worth a solid recommendation. In addition to all of the things you would expect from your realtor, she also has a solid knowledge of the contractor and repair side of things and will help size up issues and put you in touch with good contractors. This is invaluable stuff if you're looking to buy an older home.

Claire recently helped us with our first home purchase. She came highly recommended by two acquaintances and from our first phone call, I knew I was in good hands. We lived 5 hours away from Portland during our housing search, which made things more stressful for us, but Claire helped immensely by screening potential houses for us and giving us detailed descriptions of each. On top of living 5 hours away, I was pregnant with our second child and really feeling the need to find our perfect home in a hurry. She responded to my frequent neediness with humor, patience, and a ton of reassurance. Claire is a professional through and through. She is not a person who dabbles in real estate while pursuing other things. This is her career and it shows. She knows the Portland market and understands the current trends as well as the psychology behind buying and selling a home. She was able to get some concessions from our finicky sellers that others probably would not have been able to. She also has professional relationships with other realtors and housing professionals including mortgage brokers, inspectors, and contractors - it seemed everyone I spoke to during our buying process knew her name and respected her work. As others have mentioned, Claire also understands a lot about construction and saved us a lot of money and hassle by giving us this information about each home we considered. And while she is a professional through and through, she is also very down-to-earth and a lot of fun to hang out with and house hunt with. She understood very quickly what our needs were and steered us in the right direction (or away from the wrong direction) many times. I can't say enough great things about Claire. We had to split a piece of property in half (which involved the city and the bank), refinance half of the same property, sell the other half, and all of this had to go perfectly so we could close on our new home.
