We closed on our new home in SW Austin this last week, having relocated from Southern California. In all the process took around 8 months. I found Mark Clausen on an Austin website and it was the best "dumb luck" decision I made. I can not recommend Mark and France high enough. Mark was incredibly thorough, helpful, but not pushy as we approached the time to identify our home. He provided the G2 that was crucial to understand where we should (and more importantly) where we should not look. By the time we flew in to look at homes, he had north of 15 homes lined up and then boldly announced he knew which one we'd buy (The fourth house on the second day).....NAILED IT. His partnership with his wife works beautifully as well. His contacts for subs, utilities, and general help around town have been so helpful. We couldn't have asked for a better experience than what we received from Mark and France Clausen. They were patient, respectfully suggestive, made us feel as though we were their only customer while with us, incredibly responsive, always communicative, and most importantly, was at all times an absolute advocate of our best interest with regard to all aspects of the transaction. In short, Mark and France were bad***es that controlled the process from day 1! Forgive my language, but that's the best way to describe their approach and ability to get it done. Were it not for them, the slacker selling agent's head would still be in the clouds and spinning. Not that it's a Realtor battle, but if it were, the Clausen's were a winner by knockout within 10 seconds of round 1. Tanya Werner, his transaction specialist, was equally thorough, friendly, had a great attitude, and was incredibly helpful as she made sure we were clear on all required documentation for submission, and was pleasantly persistent in making sure both we and the selling Realtor provided all that was needed in a timely fashion to not stall the process to close. Simply incredible were the Clausen's, Tanya Werner, and Scott Coburn, the Wells Fargo lending agent that Mark recommended. Absolute pros were all of these people. Mark and France are the reason that we are home owners today. We gave up long before they did. When we realized that financing was tightening, we decided it would be best to just wait till the economic environment was more relaxed. They encouraged us not to sign another year lease since we really did not enjoy renting. They were relentless in finding homes that were in our price range and within the parameters that we were hoping for. Their tenacity paid off. My husband and I had the good fortune of meeting and working with Mark and France Clausen for the purchase of our current home. Over the years we’ve garnered a bit of experience with buying and selling homes and have finally found more than just sales people. Our current home purchase came with a unique set of problems and had it not been for Mark’s knowledge of the building/development process, we would still be looking to move. To make matters worse we needed to sell our house prior to buying our current home just when the market was near its worst. Mark was able to sell our house simultaneously, which allowed us to buy our new one. Mark and France work together as an efficient team.
